+ WHEN IS STANDING OVATION 2018?
Standing Ovation 2018 will take place on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at DC's newest concert venue - The Anthem.
The cocktail reception will take place from 5:00 - 6:30 pm and the awards ceremony will follow from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.
+ How can I attend Standing Ovation?
Standing Ovation 2018 is open to all DCPS teachers, leaders, and school staff who were Highly Effective in the 2016-2017 school year. If you are a Highly Effective educator, please check your dc.gov email account as the link to register for you and a guest was sent there. If you're having trouble locating the invitation, please check your spam folder. Registration closes January 18, 2018, however, tickets are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
Standing Ovation is open to the entire DC community. Each year, attendees include corporate and philanthropic sponsors, civic officials, and education champions who applaud the district's incredible educators.

+ How do I get my tickets?
For all DCPS educators, your tickets will arrive to your school mailbox via inter-office mail on February 1. If you registered a guest, your guest's ticket will also be delivered at that time.
For all other attendees, your tickets will be available at Will Call on February 8th at The Anthem starting at 5:00 pm.
+ How do I get to The Anthem?
Standing Ovation 2018 will take place at a brand new venue - The Anthem - located at 901 Wharf Street SW, Washington, DC 20024.
Located just off I-395/I-695 and 7th Street SW, driving to the Wharf is easy and parking is available at the garage off Maine Avenue SW.
The Wharf offers a SW Neighborhood Shuttle that is free and open to the public.
The Wharf is also metro accessible - just a 5 minute walk to Waterfront Metro and the green line or an 8 minute walk to L'Enfant Plaza Metro and the blue, orange, silver, green, and yellow lines.

+ Will coat check be available?
Yes. Complimentary coat check will be available on-site for all guests.
+ Will food and beverage be provided?
Light fare will be served at the reception from 5:00 - 6:30 pm. All major credit cards are accepted at the bars on-site.
+ WHY SHOULD I NOMINATE A DCPS EDUCATOR OR SCHOOL COMMUNITY?
DC Public School believes in the importance of recognizing and rewarding its excellent educators. At Standing Ovation, the efforts of DCPS' outstanding teachers, leaders, and school staff are celebrated with a star-studded awards ceremony, catered reception, and cash prizes ranging from $5,000 to $25,000.
+ WHEN is the deadline for nominations?
Nominations for Standing Ovation 2018 will be accepted June 1 - September 8, 2017.
+ HOW DO I NOMINATE?
Nominations for Standing Ovation 2018 are now closed. Check back in the spring of 2018 to nominate for the 2019 event!
+ WHO CAN NOMINATE?
Nominations are accepted from DCPS educators, central office staff, students, families, and community members. If you know someone who deserves a standing ovation, we want to hear from you!
+ Can I nominate myself?
Yes! We welcome self-nominations.
+ When is the deadline for educator applications?
The selection process differs slightly for each Standing Ovation award. Most educators will be contacted to submit an online applications at the close of the nominations process. Educators will then have 3-4 weeks to submit their application. More details around this process will be communicated to individual nominees.
+ How are the winners selected?
Applications will be judged by a panel comprised of DCPS central office staff representing a variety of offices and expertise. The top finalists for each award will be contacted to schedule interviews or school visits to gather additional information. Award winners will be chosen based on the quality of their applications, their recommendations, and other factors as outlined in the award descriptions.
+ What awards are presented at Standing Ovation?
